Why work for Casa?

Join a team of professionals committed to seeing every child in Houston grow up in a safe and supportive home that gives them hope.

Supportive community.

Anyone who has worked in child welfare, no matter the role, will tell you that it can be difficult to leave work at work. We offer generous benefits, mental health resources, and a tight-knit professional community to help you shoulder the load of this challenging work.

Manageable caseload.

Smaller caseloads mean you have more time to spend working building individual relationships with each child or parent.

Meaningful work.

In addition to families referred to us by CPS, we work with many families who voluntarily seek out our services to strengthen and protect their family unit. This means that our work can serve as life-altering intervention that keeps families out of the legal system.

Generous benefits.

We offer a generous benefits package that includes insurance plans, 401k, 2 weeks vacation, paid parental leave, and more.

Work at Casa de Esperanza

  • Family Based Care (FBC)

In the heart of a secure, private neighborhood, our Family Based Care (FBC) foster parents live in a fully furnished home and care for children full-time.

Living in our neighborhood gives both foster parents and foster children a sense of community among people dedicated to caring for each other. Here, children are safe and foster parents are supported 24/7 by each other, our volunteers, and our staff.

You’ll be responsible for the daily care of the children placed in your home and for the coordination of all medical, dental, and developmental care needed by the children in your home.

As a full-time employee of Casa de Esperanza, you’ll receive housing, vacation, insurance, 401(k), and more.

  • Hourly

Direct Care Staff work a designated shift in one of our foster homes, caring for infants and toddlers. Your responsibilities will include feeding, holding, comforting, and giving medications to infants and young children during an assigned day or awake overnight shift. Full time positions will receive full-time pay as well as insurance, vacation, paid holidays, 401k, and more. Whether you’re preparing meals, engaging in play, or providing emotional support, your contribution will leave a lasting impact on these young lives.
  • Hands of Hope AmeriCorps Member

Hands of Hope AmeriCorps is a paid 12-month program where you provide direct care and supervision to children 0-6 years old and live in a fully furnished home in our private neighborhood. While the program is only 12 months, the impact you will have on the children in your care is lifelong. And each child’s strength, resilience, and love will make a lifelong impact on you. You’ll leave the program with greater knowledge and experience of the complex problems faced by families and children in the child welfare system.

If you're thinking about joining our team, here's what our staff has to say.
